The Centre for Counselling, Nutrition and Health Care (COUNSENUTH) is an indigenous non-governmental, non-profit organization in Tanzania established in 1998 with its offices in Dar es Salaam: COUN5ENUTH is dedicated to improving the quality of lives of vulnerable groups through provision of preventive health education, counseling and nutritional services, by focusing on active community involvement.

Post Tittle: Program Coordinator - Nutrition
Duty Station: Songea
Reports to: Program Manager - Lishe -Ruvuma Program
POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of program activities in Ruvuma region. He/she will be working with Local Government Authorities, health facilities, selected C50s and community workers. An applicant should be capable of
working in rural communities and with people of different cultural backgrounds The person must have very good interpersonal skills, able to coordinate multiple at a time, highly motivated, creative, a team player with high degree of integrity and fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and experience.
• Hold a Master Degree in Nutrition, Public Health or any other relevant social science degree at postgraduate level With the basic degree in nutrition.
• Have at least 3 - 5 years working experience in nutrition or related projects/programs.
• Have experience in community engagement/mobilization and capacity building process.
• Have experience of working with Government institutions, the local government civil society organizations and community partners.
Scope of Work and Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Local Government Authorities in Ruvuma region, including the Council Multisector Nutrition committees, the District Nutrition Officers and the district technical team.
• Work with Principal Program Officers at COUN5ENUTH headquarter and other team members in coordinating and facilitating the program activities in the region.
• Provide technical support to the district program officers and C50s implementing the Lishe Ruvuma program.
• Assist in capacity building of program regional/district partners.
• Participate in providing technical supportive supervision to the implementing partners under the program.
• Participate in preparing plan of action, implementation and evaluation of the program activities.
• Follow up closely the implementation of activities under the program as scheduled in the plan of action.
• To work with other relevant partners and stakeholders in maternal and child nutrition activities.
• Compile monthly/quarterly reports.
• To undertake any other work as assigned by the authority.
