CRS Tanzania seeks qualified candidates for its Accelerating Stunting Reduction Program (ASRP) in Mbeya
region. All positions are based in Mbeya. The project will be led by CRS with the Centre for Counselling,
Nutrition and Health Care (COUNSENUTH) and implemented in Mbeya Town Council, Mbeya District
Council, Mbarali District Council, Kyela District Council, Rungwe District Council and Busekelo District
Council.
ASRP Project Manager

Reports To CRS Director of Heath Programs
Supervises S/he will manage a team of 6-technical staff including two Nutrition Officers, one
Agriculture/Nutrition Officer, one Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and
Learning (MEAL) Officer, one Administration and Logistics Assistant and one Project
Accountant.
Responsibilities The ASRP Program Manager (PM) will provide technical oversight and leadership in
the delivery of effective nutrition interventions for the program. The PM will lead
coordination and program integration between project staff and program partners. The
PM will be responsible for ensuring program quality, effective integration of outputs
and coordination of activities across the 6 districts of Mbeya. S/He will ensure that
quality, timely, and efficient outcomes and activities are generated under this program.
S/He will be responsible for ensuring period reports are prepared and delivered on time
to the Director of Health Programs (DHP). The PM will also engage with nutrition
networks, key institutions, development partner projects and donors. Working in
collaboration with COUNSENUTH, the program manager will also identify and
coordinate training needs for ASRP Supervisors and Community Health Workers
(CHWs). S/He will supervise the preparation, review, pretest, and usage of project
training materials. The materials will include training manuals, job aids, counselling
cards, reports and other materials as needed.
Desirable skills &
qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health or related field;
At least 5-years’ experience working in nutrition and/or health programs in
Tanzania;
Experience managing large scale community based projects, experience managing
donor funds, Sensitivity to cultural diversity, excellent inter-personal,
communications and ability to work under minimal supervision.
Computer literate and conversant with Microsoft suite.
Speaking and report writing skills and fluency in English and Kiswahili required.
Experience or knowledge of early childhood development (ECD) and water
hygiene and sanitation (WASH) is an added advantage.
Jo Title: Administration and Logistics Assistant

Supervises Drivers and Office Cleaner
Responsibilities Fleet Management - The administration and logistics assistant will collaborate and
coordinate with all project staff to determine transport requirements; coordinate the
movement of project vehicle(s) and personnel; ensure and facilitate the appropriate use,
maintenance and repair of vehicle(s) and Supervisors’ motorcycles and keep all statutory
documents current and updated. Reconcile vehicle and motorcycle logs with gas station
consumption reports and ensure that the logs for vehicles and motorcycles are updated
on time and filed properly; ensure daily check of vehicle and filling in of inspection
form, monthly analysis of vehicle reports, and ensure availability of a first aid kit in the
vehicle(s). Manage insurance claims in case of accidents, maintain and update property
inventory of office assets and equipment and facilitate submission to Dar es Salaam
office on a quarterly basis. S/he will facilitate the recruitment of driver, train and
supervise the individual, provide updates on conditions of vehicle(s) to the ASRP PM.
S/He will also be responsible in training the project Supervisors on appropriate
motorcycle usage and maintenance. S/he will act as liaison between CRS and local
government agencies and personnel necessary to keep CRS’ vehicle fleet legal and
roadworthy.
Human resources - S/he will maintain computerized leave records of all staff members
based in the CRS/COUNSENUTH Mbeya office and coordinate staff leave time to
ensure appropriate coverage. S/he will also assist the Mbeya team in recruitment of
ASRP Supervisors.
Procurement - Initiate the procurement of authorized materials and services for
CRS/COUNSENUTH Mbeya office in line with CRS’ procurement policies and
procedures. Ensure that both office and vehicles’ fire-extinguishers are regularly
serviced and first aid kits are periodically replenished in the office plus vehicles.
Confidentiality-Keep all documents and information related to CRS’ program
activities, personnel and development plans confidential. And adhere to CRS’ principles
of confidentiality in relations to staff, partners, vendors and other. Report to the
management potential irregularities or any misbehavior that occurs.
Desirable skills &
qualifications:
Bachelor degree (or similar qualifications) in Business Administration, General
Management, Human Resources and Economics.
Minimum of 3 years of working experience in the field of administration, general
management and or fleet management with recognized international NGOs or other
agencies.
Demonstrated understanding of policies and procedures governing the management
of motorized assets and the contracting of transportation services.
Conversant with Microsoft suit and fluent in English and Kiswahili required.
Problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills.
Ability to learn quickly, strong self-training readiness.
Must be self-starter with excellent demonstrated teamwork skills.
Capable to work in a multi-national/cultural environment.

Agriculture / Nutrition Officer

Responsibilities The Agriculture officer will work under the supervision of ASRP PM to provide
technical support and guidance to the implementation team on the delivery of
nutrition sensitive interventions and Social and Behavior Change Communication
messages that focus on maternal and child health and Infant and Young Child
Feeding (IYCF) practices. The Ag-Nut Officer will be responsible for identifying
progressive farmers within communities, supporting them to set-up Farmer Field
Schools, procuring agricultural inputs, arranging training and providing technical
support and routine mentorship to farmers as they establish their kitchen gardens
and local food preservation systems. S/He will be actively engaged in agriculture
related networks with key institutions/agencies, in the region including the
Regional-level Agriculture authorities, District Agronomists, etc. S/He will work
closely with the two Project Nutrition officers and the MEAL Officer.
Other tasks will include conduct supportive supervision to progressive farmers,
assist the project manager in coordination of training and refresher trainings for
progressive farmers, and conduct regular monitoring and feedback looping to the
MEAL Officer.

Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field (master’s degree preferred)
At least 3 years’ experience implementing agriculture activities.
Knowledge and experience leading nutrition-relevant activities is an added
advantage.

Responsibilities To drive CRS vehicle in Mbeya while strictly observing local laws and CRS
policies and regulations related to the use of the CRS vehicles.
To facilitate planned maintenance, routine services and minor repairs to the
vehicle assigned to.
To inspect the vehicle before and after a journey to ensure that it is in a good
condition in order to minimize wear and tear of the vehicle
To ensure that all vehicle movements are recorded in the vehicle log-sheets
and that the vehicle is used for authorized purposes only
Maintain drivability of vehicles, and supplies of all essential equipment of
the vehicle
To identify vehicle faults, promptly report to the supervisor and advise on
appropriate repairs and services as necessary
To verify records of all work done on each vehicle and on the respective job
cards
Interact with visitors in a manner that is representative of CRS
To carry out any other office activities as assigned by supervisor including
errands to the banks, the airport, the post office, etc
Key Relationships Internal: Support and Program staffs in Dar es Salaam Office, Office

Advanced Driver’s Certificate Grade Two from the National Institute of
Transport (NIT) or Vocational Education Training Authority (VETA)
Advanced Driver’s Certificate Grade One from the NIT or VETA as an

Certificate of Motor Vehicle Mechanics Grade II as an added advantage
Valid and accident-free Class C Tanzania Driver’s License
At least three years’ work experience in vehicle driving and mechanics in
other International NGOs or similar organizations
Ability to speak and write in both English and Kiswahili
