The Centre for Counselling, Nutrition and Health Care (COUNSENUTH) is an indigenous non-governmental, non-profit organization in Tanzania established in 1998 with its offices in Dar es Salaam: COUN5ENUTH is dedicated to improving the quality of lives of vulnerable groups through provision of preventive health education, counseling and nutritional services, by focusing on active community involvement.

Post Tittle: Program Officer - Nutrition
Duty Station: Tunduru
Reports to: Program Coordinator - Nutrition
POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Officer will work on our nutrition program in Tunduru, Ruvuma and will be working with Local Government Authority, health facilities CSOs and community workers. An applicant should be capable of working in rural communities and with people of different cultural backqrounds. The person must have very good interpersonal skills, highly motivated, creative, team player with high degree of integrity and must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English. The person will report to the Project Coordinator -Ruvuma Nutrition Program. The Program Officer- will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of program activities in Tunduru district.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
• The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and experience.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition
• Having experience in public health will be an added advantage
• Have experience in community engagement/mobilization and capacity building process.
• Have experience of working with government institutions, civil society organizations and community partners.
Scope of Work and Responsibilities
• Work with Program Coordinator and other team members in coordinating and facilitating the Lishe - Ruvuma program activities.
• Work closely with the Local Government Authority, inCluding the Council Multisectoral Nutrition committee and the District Nutrition.
• Officer in planning and implementing nutrition activities in the district. Provide technical support to the District Nutrition Officer, the district technical team and selected CSOs implementing the program.
• Work with multi-sectoral nutrition committees for inclusion of nutrition related interventions into district plans and budgets.
• Assist in capacity building of program district partners Follow up closely the implementation of activities under the program as scheduled in the plan of action.
• Prepare and timely submission of monthly, quarterly and annual project reports.
• To undertake any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
