The Tea Research Institute of Tanzania (TRIT) was established in 1996 as an autonomous organization
representing the Government of Tanzania and the tea industry. Its duty is to support the continued development of the tea industry, both large and small-scale producers, with appropriate high quality, cost effective research and technology transfer. It is funded by both public and private sector and by grant aid from willing donors.
TRIT is pleased to announce vacancies for the following positions, on behalf of Ikanga Tea Company, a
subsidiary of Rift Valley holdings.
1. Extension Services Coordinator
QUALIFICATION
Holder of first degree (B.Sc) in Agriculture or any appropriate / related agricultural disciplines from a recognized University, with at least three (3) years working experience in agriculture sector on managerial/coordination position. The candidate should possess basic knowledge on computing
preferably on MS office based programmes.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall in -charge of the extension unit serving a commercial tea processing company with a wide spread catchment area.
Supervise the day to day activities of the extension services staff.
Liaise with the Operation manage to determine the routine field requirements.
Prepare monthly performance report to the management. .
Provide Agriculture Technical Services required by the company in good agriculture practice.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Hardworking with capacity to work independently with minimum supervision.
Good analytical capabilities
Persuasive ,and able to work with different categories of farmers.
Capable of working towards achieving a team oriented goals and objectives. .
Facilitation and collaborative skills particularly with colleagues staff who may have different autonomy
Should be under 45 years.
DUTY STATION
The sought candidates will be working for Ikanga Tea Factory. They will be part of the dynamic team being assembled to manage operations in the newest and modern Ikanga Tea Processing Factory located in Lupembe Ward, Njombe Region.
