Vacancy Announcement: The project for Natural Resources Management for Local Economic Development in Kigoma Region (NRM4LED) has a vacancy for a Nationally recruited Technical Advisor (NTA) for Education and Public Awareness CEPA

Duty Station: Kigoma ( Working throughout Kigoma Region)
The Belgian Development Agency, BTC mobilizes its resources and its expertise to eliminate poverty in the world. BTC contributes to the efforts of the international community and works towards a society that provides present and future generations with sufficient resources to build a sustainable and fair world. The NRM4LED project aims at increased economic benefits for the communities of selected landscapes in Kigoma
Region through an improved enabling environment and strengthened capacities for sustainable management of Natural Resources (NR) linked to an equitable Local Economic Development. The direct beneficiaries of the project are the local users of NR in selected landscapes; Local, and Regional Government Authorities,
Non-state service providers and the Private sector, who associate themselves with the project implementation through partnerships in order to improve their management of Natural Resources in interaction with community partners.
NRM4LED is a 5-year project, which started in September 2014. The project implementation unit (PIl:J) is based at the Kigoma Regional Secretariat (RS), led by a Project manager from RS office and a BTC employed
International Technical Advisor as co-manager. The coordination team will further comprise of 7 local
Technical Advisors employed by BTC, four of whom will be stationed at the RS and three at district levels, and supporting staff. Now BTC seeks to recruit for nationally recruited CEPA Technical Advisor for the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) at Kigoma. _

Expected starting' date: 1 August 2015;
Duration: 4 years


Basic functions and responsibilities:
The NTA will be employed by the BTC Resident Representative (represented by the project co-manager). The NTA will be a member of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) with the following responsibilities:
The NTA CEPA will be responsible to develop the project's strategy for Communication, Education and Public
Awareness to stakeholders at all levels and lead the implementation of the strategy, including developing and overseeing the production of CEPA materials, including written, audio and visual materials, and cooperate with other technical experts in developing manuals, tool kits and training materials related to sustainable management of natural resources at the community level for equitable local economic development.
In addition to skills and experience in communication, including mass communication, experience with community based natural resources management would be advantageous for this position.
