GALVmed (Global Alliance for Livestock Veterinary Medicines) is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to develop livestock vaccines, medicines and diagnostics to benefit the poorest livestock keepers in the developing world. GALVmed is conducting R & D projects in collaboration with partners worldwide for the development of the required products. GALVmed is looking for an Assistant Director of R & D to provide scientific expertise, advice and support by imparting knowledge, coaching and advice across a range of projects, building on GALVmed’s reputation for scientific and technical excellence.

Interested? If you have........

• A PhD or Veterinary Degree + experience in Animal Health product development
• Reputation in the scientific animal health community
• The ability to drive existing R & D programmes and projects forward towards completion or transfer to Marketing
• The ability to manage product development plan productions
• The ability to represent the company with the research & scientific communities in Africa and South Asia
• The ability to build and manage strong relationships with GALVmed’s project partners
• The ability to support GALVmed’s Global Access Strategy and Intellectual Property policies
• Experience of working with multi-cultural teams which may be diversely located
• Ideally, specific knowledge of GALVmed’s focus diseases, notably Trypanosomosis, Porcine cysticercosis, Contagious Bovine & Caprine Pleuropneumonia, Newcastle disease.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to effectively communicate the pro poor agenda
