We are seeking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, energetic, self driven and qualified individuals to fill in a position of Senior Mechanic Technician in the Maintenance Department. The position requires an individual in the Company who is proactive has the drive and ability to achieve job’s demands and the Company’s expectations
Main Purpose of Role:
To closely monitor the overall production facility and processes, checking the actual status, identifying any potential problem and giving appropriate communication thereby ensuring a safe and reliable operation of process plant and equipment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand UPP plant principal operation in Power production
- Familiar with all equipments at Ubungo plant
- Be able to perform task as per Company Coop requirement
- Have the ability to work with amplissima system
- Comply with HSE guidelines and company objective
- Wear protective clothing and safety wear at all time at work
- Hold valid driver license if operating company vehicles
- Demonstrate good house keeping during and after conducting a task
- Apply team concept, respect, manors and trust while working with other fellow employee
- Report any incident that occurs which can get out of proportion or endanger others also company premises and equipment
- Employee is expected to be punctual at work and be able to adapt to changes
- Perform most of mechanical task assign to him with minimal supervision
- Properly use of all Company working Tools and safer custodian.
- Senior Mechanic is expected to conduct minor welding task and also high pressure welding if such employee holds a valid company high pressure welders ticket
- Be able to perform minor vehicle maintenance ex: tire change, oil change and servicing
- Senior Mechanic holding valid automotive mechanical license is expected to be able to undertake most vehicle repair and mentor at time other mechanical employee that assist to assign task.
- Insure proper precaution when working around and on any Gas Turbine and attached equipment
- Insure lock out procedure and work permit requirement are followed prior to commencing a job.
- Act as safety watch at times when necessary to do so
- Be able to mentor other team employee in the mechanical /pipeline activity when necessary to do so.
- Perform assign pipeline task that he or she may feel safe to do so and have receive training to such task
- Attend company maintenance training and mandatory meetings as schedule
- Have to work away from UPP on a short leave
- Operate company equipment that he or she is capable of doing so safely and has received training on.
- Share on call responsibility with other UPP qualified employee and be available during such call duration. Approx. 1 week (Friday to Friday @ 15:00hrs)
- Be willing to act as replacement on temporary basis in the acting mechanical supervision position while immediate supervisor is on a leave or away for short period of time.
- Complete weekly employee report and forward to operation supervisor
- Conduct other assignments that may be requested to do by management team member
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
- Maintenance Management system
- Quality management and quality control course
- Maintenance computer program
- Fluent Swahili and English languages
