We are seeking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, energetic, self driven and qualified individuals to fill in a position of Senior E & I Technician in the Maintenance Department. The position requires an individual in the Company who is proactive has the drive and ability to achieve job’s demands and the Company’s expectations.
Main Purpose of Role: To carry out maintenance activities of all E & I equipment installed at UPP and on the wayleave.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To carry out the day to day maintenance activities in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
- The safe utilization of company resources
- Supervise contract employees while they are engaged in maintenance activities of Power Plant and wayleave.
- To trouble shoot, repair and analyse plant equipment defects.
- Responsible to assure the technical and procedural correctness of maintenance carried out.
- Assist Maintenance Manager to administer the Development Goals Program
- Responsible for compliance with all Government, Local, Corporate Safety and Environmental Policies in works carried out.
- Coordinate field activities and assist supervisor in planning of maintenance activities.
- Discharge duties as per company IMS procedures for successful implementation of the ISO and OHSAS programs.
- Assist in requisitioning parts and supplies
- Maintains positive community relations.
- Ensure correctness in maintenance activities to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Any other duty as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Manager from time to time.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Degree / diploma in Electrical / instrumentation Engineering,
- Minimum 4 years experience in maintenance of Power Plant or related industry.
- Proven knowledge of Gas turbine power plant, HV systems, Instrumentation and DCS.
- Knowledge or ability to understand and interpret international regulations and standards, IFC and World Bank guidelines.
- Good oral and written communication skills both in English and Kiswihili.
- A high degree of skill in typical PC-based business computing applications such as databases, word processors, spreadsheets, etc.
- Ability to learn and safely operate various movable equipments used in power plant.
- A hands-on experience in operation of gas turbines, water treatment, cooling water systems, chilled water systems and water purification equipment.
