Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) was established under the Ports Act No. 17 0f 2004. The Authority is vested with the obligation and responsibility of developing, managing and promoting the maritime sector in Tanzania mainland.
The major role of TPA is to enhance the advantages of the geographical position of Tanzania’s maritime resources.

2.0 POST: MARINE ENGINEERS – 5 POSTS
2.1 Key Responsibilities
1. Co-ordinates all the activities of planning and controlling of marine engineering activities;
2. Plans and co-ordinates maintenance schedules of marine crafts including dry docking outside the country;
3. Performs overall administration of the Marine engineering section;
4. Liaises with supplies department on the availability of spares
5. Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
2.2 Qualifications and Experience
A. Professional Qualifications:
(i) Registered with ERB
(ii) Certificate of Competence class 1
B. Academic/Basic Qualifications:
(i) First degree in Chemical/Process/Marine Engineering
(ii) Computer Literate
C. Working Experience:
(i) At least three years
