MECHANICAL ENGINEER – 5 POSTS
3.1 Key Responsibilities
1. Participates in implementation of programs on equipment renewal, maintenance and disposal;
2. Participates in developments and implementation of equipment operation plans to minimize accidents and improve on reliability;
3. Evaluates performance of equipment in relation to cost, durability and other parameters and recommending on their suitability for company use;
4. Develops operations and maintenance manuals for vehicles, plants and equipment;
5. Reviews workshops’ operational process;
6. Develops, pre-qualifying and maintains schedules of parts and services supplies;
7. May be required to supervise maintenance activities for any of the following: Fork lifts, Cargo gear, Mobile Cranes, tractors, Trailers, plants, Heavy and Light duty vehicles and to manage the Machine Shop;
8. Supervises, appraises staff and identifies development and training needs;
9. Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
3.2 Qualifications and Experience
A. Professional Qualifications:
(i) Registered with ERB
B. Academic/Basic Qualifications:
(i) First degree in Mechanical Engineering
(ii) Computer Literate
C. Working Experience:
(ii) At least three years

The successful candidate will be offered an attractive and competitive remuneration package commensurate with Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) Remuneration schemes at the salary scale of TPGS 6.
