The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) is the only public university in Zanzibar established by Act No.8 of the House of Representatives of 1999. Since its inception in 2002 it has been expanding in academic programmes as well as student enrolment. Its vision is to be the most preferred University in the Eastern Africa.
The State University of Zanzibar seeks the service of a suitable Tanzanian to fill the following post:
Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer - English Linguistics
Qualifications
i. Holder of a PhD or Masters degree in LINGUISTICS with a GPA of not less than 3.5 or equivalent at undergraduate level.
ii. Fluency in English language.
iii. Should respect and appreciate diversity.
iv. Should be a self-motivated person who can work under minimum supervision.
v. Should be able to work beyond schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities
i. Prepares lectures and instruction of Linguistics courses to undergraduate students.
ii. Prepares suitable teaching/learning materials for students.
iii. Measures and evaluates students' progress and maintain their progress records.
iv. Supervises students in their independent studies or projects and field works.
v. Conducts researches and provides consultancy services aiming at curbing the community social problems.
vi. Performs any other university duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to him/her by senior officials.
Salary scales: SUG (A) 15 -16/ SUG (A) 13 -14
