Description
Purpose of the job:
The Senior Business Analyst acts as website project manager and lead webmaster, ensuring appropriate information architecture, organisation and navigation of the BIS website and its components. This hands-on job includes search, notification services and web metrics. Dissemination of statistical data is of particular importance, as well as interoperability with websites of central banks that participate in hub functions such as the Central Bank Research Hub.
Principal accountabilities:
• Leads website modernisation and site enrichment projects
• Advises and coaches staff across business areas on effective web communications and information architecture
• Plans and oversees the dissemination of statistical data and metadata building XML technologies such as SDMX
• Develops and maintains site search and regularly analyses its effectiveness
• Plans and manages the social media presence of the BIS
• Develops project plans and budgets
Experience and qualification required:
• At least five years’ related experience, preferably in an international institution or a central bank
• Experience conducting business process analysis and leading complex IT projects
• University degree in a relevant field such as communications, IT or statistics
Skills required:
• Demonstrated expertise with web technologies, web authoring and scripting languages and standards
• Demonstrated ability in relevant disciplines, eg information architecture, user interface design, database development, application development
• Proven leadership in managing successful web projects
• Strong team and client orientation
• Excellent communication skills, including written and presentational English
The BIS employs staff on both open-ended and fixed-term contracts. However, all new entrants are initially recruited on a fixed-term basis. We are also in a privileged position to be able to recruit any nationality.
