CIVIL
ENGINEER – 1 POST
Terms of Contract: Contract for an Unspecified Period of Time
Reports
to: Head of Division.
Location:
Head Office – Estate Management Department.
Job
purpose:
Coordination
of construction projects and maintenance activities in a view of insuring
preventive maintenance procedures are adhered to and projects are completed on
time, within the agreed cost and at the specified quality standard.
Primary
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Planning maintenance work in accordance
with the laid down routine schedule in a view of ensuring preventive and
curative maintenance are adhered to.
b) Conducting onsite inspection of existing
Bank premises and preparing bills of quantities, technical specifications, and
bidding documents for maintenance project.
c) Carrying out analysis of information
arising from the preventive maintenance schedule and providing statistical
reports on performance and maintenance work.
d) Monitoring and overseeing site works to
ensure correct material and workmanship are used for the Bank to obtain quality
works and value for money.
e) Reviewing and assessing deliverables
completed by outsourced consultants and contractors.
f) Preparing routine progress reports and
submitting to head of division.
g) Evaluating and processing payment of fee
notes and contractor’s interim certificate of payments
h) Providing technical support and inputs
required in procurement processes for works.
i)
Monitoring
and overseeing activities of subordinates including technicians and artisans,
j)
Performing any other related duties as may
be assigned by the head of division.
Essential
Requirements:
·
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or
related field with professional certification i.e. certification in Engineering
Registration Board.
·
A post graduate qualification in
Construction Management, Engineering Management, Project Management or MBA is
an added advantage.
·
Five years’ work experience in
construction industry including knowledge of material, construction trades,
construction methods, construction contracts and construction project life
cycle.
·
Proven analytical and quantitative skills.
·
Ability to use Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Power
Point and Ms Project.
·
Good team player.
·
Excellent written and oral communication
skills.

contracts to ensure projects are completed on time, within the agreed cost and
at the specified quality standard.
Primary
Duties and Responsibilities:
a)
Carrying out project coordination and monitoring with a view to ensure
construction and maintenance projects are executed and completed on time,
within budgeted cost and at the specified quality.
b) Comprehending relevant project designs,
drawings, technical specifications, bills of quantities, site instructions and
other contract documents necessary for reference when inspecting and
commissioning completed works.
c) Monitoring and overseeing construction
works to ensure correct material and workmanship are used for the Bank to
obtain quality works and value for money.
d) Reviewing and assessing project
deliverables completed by outsourced consultants and contractors.
e) Maintaining accurate periodic records of
project information on progress, quality, scope of work, cost status, work
programme, safety issues and project risks.
f) Preparing routine project progress reports
and submitting to head of division.
g) Evaluate and processing payment of fee
notes and contractor’s interim certificate of payments
h) Conducting onsite inspection of existing
Bank premises and preparing bills of quantities, technical specifications, and
bidding documents for maintenance project.
i)
Providing

resources.

artisans,
