Under the direction of the Director of Programs, the Resource Mobilization Officer leads ASLM resource mobilization, specifically, but not limited to: coordinating and advising on fundraising activities; management of restricted/donor and unrestricted funds and contracts; and leading efforts to optimize resources and income generation to support achievement of the ASLM strategic plan and associated fundraising targets.
The position will develop and manage the implementation of fully integrated fundraising and partnership resource mobilization and development strategies; implementation of such strategies, including proposal development as needed; build long-term relationships with organizations, governments, donors, foundations, individuals and others to deliver organization goals; and review, monitor and document donor funding, policies, and trends in Africa.

Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in social sciences, international development, marketing, economics, communication, fundraising, public administration, business administration or related field; applicants with Bachelor’s Degrees will also be considered with over eight (8) years experience.
- A minimum of seven (7) years proven track record and experience of successful networking, fundraising and managing a range of different contracts, events, corporate, bilateral, international organizations, donors, etc;
- Minimum four to six (4-6) years experience in resource mobilization/ marketing/ advertising/ communications;
- Experience managing or coordinating fundraising activities at a senior level, including development of strategies;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; fluency in English required, with French language skills a plus.
