The University has established a new role of Deputy Dean to support the Dean of the Faculty of Business in delivering an increasingly wide agenda of activities. The Deputy Dean will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of key strategic objectives as well as formally deputising for the Dean on key University committees, including the University’s Faculty Management Group. At Faculty level the post holder will be a member of the Executive Group, with a portfolio focused on the promotion and development of Corporate and Regional Development and partnerships aimed at further developing the Business School’s agendas for engagement and impact. The Deputy Dean will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing a focused and purpose-driven executive education and corporate engagement strategy and its effective operational delivery.
A visionary, who is able to secure commitment from staff, the successful applicant will have worked at a senior level in higher education and will be knowledgeable in systems and procedures as they relate to the Business School and to its business development partnerships. With internationally recognised research excellence and a commitment to research led teaching, academic credibility is essential to the role as is the ability to work in partnership with both academic and professional staff.
The business school is an integral part of the University of Leeds’ vibrant and diverse campus which hosts over 30,000 students and 7,500 staff from more than 140 countries. The campus is at the heart of the city of Leeds, the UK’s largest centre for finance and business outside of London.
