Location:
WWF International in Gland, Switzerland.Main responsibilities:
- Ensure all WWF International managed Programme Offices (PO) are advancing in delivering conservation impact at scale and reach the agreed level of conservation performance measured by Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and PO Dashboard.
- Streamline business processes and procedures between Host office (HO) and POs and ensure effective implementation of all adopted conservation policies and standards, recommendations of the Result-based Management (RBM) group, application of best practices, and meet programme reporting requirements.
- Provide effective leadership and management of all assigned direct reports in the Programme Office Management (POM) team.
- Establish and maintain an effective functional reporting line from the PO Conservation Directors to this position, and build strong relationships with relevant staff in POs, National Organizations (NOs) and WWF International, in particular to Conservation Strategy and Performance (CSP) Unit staff.
What you need:
Required Qualifications- MSc or PhD degree in conservation/environmental science or related field;
- At least 10 years of experience in conservation planning and programme design, M&E, audits and evaluations both at the conceptual and practical level, at least 3 years in a senior conservation leadership role;
- Proficiency in the use of computer office applications – word processing, spread sheet and presentation;
- Knowledge of the WWF Network an advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong management and leadership skills with a high degree of accountability, at least three years of demonstrated conservation leadership in senior position;
- Experience in working in Matrix and Network organisation and the ability to lead without formal authority,
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact with and influence senior management staff in POs and relevant staff in different functional areas in a positive manner;
- Highly analytical and strategic with the ability to see the big picture and context;
- Excellent written and spoken English; working knowledge of French an advantage;
- Ability to drive change and high performance;
- Previous leadership experience in an organisation managing decentralised international offices and institutions, in particular in developing countries would be an advantage;
- Decisive, proactive, collaborative and an excellent communicator;
- Available to travel extensively;
- Passion and commitment for conservation and sustainable development
