SOAS, University of London is fast approaching its centenary and is in preparation to embark on its first major fundraising campaign. It is an exciting time to join the Directorate of External Relations & Development and we currently have a vacancy for the role of Development Officer, Annual Fund and Legacies. The role sits within a small, dynamic fundraising and alumni relations team and will be instrumentally involved in the implementation of the upcoming campaign.
As a key member of the Development and Alumni Relations team, this role will be responsible for driving forward all aspects of the School's annual fund and legacy programmes, in particular to build and steward relationships and facilitate giving with alumni and friends of SOAS. Working collaboratively with the Head of Development and Alumni Relations and the Alumni Relations Manager, the Development Officer, Annual Fund and Legacies, will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of SOAS' ambitious strategy and Centenary Campaign.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of annual fund fundraising appeals and stewardship activities, including coordinating appeals, managing gift processing and reporting, developing fundraising literature, and running the annual telephone campaign. The Development Officer, Annual Fund and Legacies, also plays a role in our major gifts strategy by creating a base of alumni supporters who will in due course become major donors.
This challenging and rewarding role requires excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with a strong grasp of statistical analysis and reporting. You will be required to work independently and flexibly as a member of a small team, with a proven track record of working in fundraising in the not for profit sector. Knowledge of Raiser's Edge would be an advantage.
