Senior Maintenance Planning Supervisor Zambia-Lumwana

Lumwana Mining Company is wholly owned by Barrick Gold Corporation and operates one of the largest new copper mines to be developed globally over the last decade. The mine is seeking a self-motivated Senior Maintenance Planning Supervisor to provide an efficient and effective in-house work order planning service for both weekly and shutdown/overhaul planning and scheduling. The position reports to the Maintenance Planning Coordinator.

Compliance with OH&S practices and procedures as outlined in company Health & Safety policies and standards
Assign, coordinate and manage resources for completion of shutdown/overhaul and weekly maintenance, minor capital projects and plant support service.
Manage work priorities for the Planning section and activities taken in accordance with business needs
Create, develop and manage weekly, Equipment Overhaul and Shutdowns schedules through MS Project
Recording of all Planned Maintenance (PM) activities are fully specified and recorded in CMMS
Manage and ensure information integrity in Pronto from maintenance sections, task analysis PM updates, uploading of Standard Job Procedures
Mentor and coach Planners and Schedulers
Active involvement in training and transfers knowledge and skills to the national workforce as in line with Succession Planning
Prepare weekly and monthly Maintenance Department reports on section activities
Prepare and provide personal forward work load projections while identifying periods of over and under commitment

Skills & Abilities

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications/skills:

10 years experience in planning and scheduling experience in mining industry and atleast 5 years in a planning Supervisory position specifically with Mobile Fleet focus.
A recognised mechanical or electrical technical certificate / diploma
Demonstrated grasp of the principles of maintenance management and practices
Experience in the use of a recognized CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) preferably PRONTO
Demonstrated good record keeping skills
Computer knowledge in MS Office Suite
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Competent in a computerized Project Management System (Microsoft Project) is desirable
