SENIOR MANAGER-REGIONAL SALES
RF: CSBU-SMRS_MARCH_2012
Reporting to the Head of Consumer Sales, the job holder will drive the growth of Safaricom indirect business and generation of revenue through effective management of the retail trade & M-PESA agencies while managing and supervising dealer distribution effectiveness to the retail trade.
Key responsibilities will be to:
- Implementation and adoption of effective distribution strategy to grow sales within the assigned territory;
- Ensure achievement of set sales targets i.e. quarterly, semi annually or annually;
- Prepare, plan and execute regional territory sales programs aimed at market penetration, relationship building and sales promotions;
- Ensure internal collaboration, team work development and implementation of key Management and sales routines;
- Ensure that both dealers and the retail trade in the assigned territory adhere and adopt to set Safaricom standards;
- Attainment of the visibility and overall branding targets for the retail trade in the region;
- Manage staff and resources allocated within the region through effective monitoring of performance and by providing support to the Area Sales Managers initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in a Business related field;
- Post graduate certification in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage;
- Intermediate knowledge of business finance principles is essential;
- 5 years hands on experience in a Sales Distribution management in a FMCG or service sector of which 2 years must have been in a sales managerial position, preferably in a fast moving consumer goods company or Telecommunications Company;
- Highly results and performance oriented;
- Excellent team player with good Leadership/mentoring/management skills;
- Excellent Negotiation/Influencing and Presentation skills;
- Knowledge of KYC & AML practices.
