This Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation seeks a creative, self-starter to fill the role of Interactive Media Coordinator. This person will play a key role in all facets of the Foundation’s interactive media work, including video production, social media, and web design.
Over the past two years the Foundation has successfully launched a redesigned website (pedaids.org, April 2010) and microsite (amothersfight.org, December 2011), posted more than 250 blogs from 17 countries, grown its online community to a list of more than 62,000 email subscribers, 3,000 Twitter followers, 4,000 Facebook friends and produced more than 50 videos. In 2010 we were awarded The Webby Award and People’s Choice Webby Award for Best Public Service and Activism video for our 2010 video, The Time to Eliminate Pediatric AIDS is Now. Working with the Interactive Communications Manager and staff from across all Foundation departments and program countries, you will be an integral part of the continued online expansion and success at the Foundation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain and update the Foundation’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, and Facebook Causes.
• Participate in online communications strategy planning.
• Monitor fundraising campaigns (working with Development department) to get a sense of their stories for content across social platforms.
• Assist with digital outreach for fundraising campaigns.
• Work to position blogs on other websites and discussion groups.
• Coordinate photo and b-roll video requests.
• Respond promptly to comments or questions raised via new and social media.
• Generate creative, well-designed web content and help tell stories through pictures, designed text, etc., online.
• Manage the posting of blog content using CMS.
• Monitor Foundation’s brand online by following online conversation (tweets, Facebook messages, blog posts, etc).
• Provide detailed weekly web statistics and online traffic report and analysis.
• Assist with coordination of press conferences, editorial board meetings, and media events when called upon.
• Represent Foundation at various meetings and conferences.
Required Qualifications
• 0-2 years experience
• Bachelor’s degree is required
• Experience in communications, video production, public relations, and/or the non-profit sector
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Interest in global health or children’s issues a plus
• Experience with Final Cut Pro and/or other video editing platforms
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite for Mac and/or PC (version 5 or higher preferable)
• Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Proofreading and copyediting skills a must
• Dedicated to the use of blogging and social media tools (Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, etc)
• Knowledge of content management system(s) a plus
• Excellent communication skills; must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels, and work in a team environment
• Able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy on all phases of design process
• Creative and persistent problem solver
