Postdoctoral Fellow – Rice Monitoring Survey in South Asia

Job Purpose

IRRI is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow (PDF) to assist the Senior Scientist (Socio-economist/Impact Assessment Specialist) in undertaking high quality, impact oriented research and development activities that are related to adoption and impact assessment studies under the rice Monitoring Surveys in south Asia. The position also involves responsibilities in relation to supervising surveys in South Asia but mainly focusing on writing project reports and research papers.

Roles and Responsibilities

-Conducts high quality, quantitative socio-economic analyses by using rigorous estimation techniques, including randomizing control trials;
-Provides technical support to country teams in ensuring data quality by participating in research prioritization, planning, design, evaluation, technology dissemination and capacity enhancement strategies;
-Works closely with IRRI country staff and counterparts who conduct surveys in India, Bangladesh, and Nepal;
-Facilitates DNA fingerprinting tests with collected rice seeds;
-Co-ordinates and participates national and international meetings and present results from the project.
