Iringa Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (IRUWASA) is a Government Institution which, has the duty of providing 'potable water and sanitation services at affordable prices to the residents, of Iringa Municipality for enhancing their health and quality of life, In order to achieve the compact objectives, IRUWASA now seeks applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians who are self motivated,

Managing Director
Reports to: RUWASA Board of Directors
Duties and Responsibilities '
The Managing Director is the Chief Executive responsible for managing, planning and coordinating the Authority's activities of providing continuous supply of water of a consumable quality for domestic/commercial/industrial purposes and efficient sanitation services.
Ensures effective and efficient management of human resources of the Authority.
Ensures a smooth implementation of Authority's strategic plans and 'strategies for the current and new water and sanitation projects.
Coordinates effective policy proposals formulation for being considered and endorsed by the IRUWASA Board of Directors in relation to the vision, mission, objectives and strategies of the Authority; :
Interprets and implements circulars, directives, policies laid down by the Minister for Water the
IRUWASA Board of Directors and other Government Authorities.
Coordinates the formulation and implementation of Staff Regulations and conditions of service for the Authority in line with the mother laws of tlfe 'country. ,
Ensures monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports are prepared and submitted to the IRUWASA Board as required.
Ensures annual budgets for 'the Authority are prepared and submitted to the IRUWASA Board,
Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority. and the Ministry of Water in a specified time period for approval.'
Regularly review actual performance against plans and budgets towards Authority's set objectives and forwards the reports with recommendations for actions necessary to correct performance gaps arisen.
Establishes and assigns- responsibilities to his/her .immediate subordinates and exercises an effective delegation with, necessary authority for them' to discharge their day to day duties.
Establishes and ensures an efficient and effective Information Communication Technology within IRUWASA.
Ensures the Authority's activities are user friendly, environmental friendly and competitive in nature.
Ensures the Authority prepares and carries out an effective and efficient programme of water sources conservation, water sources protection, water and, sanitation' tariffs and policies.
Ensures there are stable and flexible financial regulations and Authority's financial transactions are properly authorized and controlled as per the set standards. links the Authority with the Regional and Municipal Authorities and the General Public in matters related to the business conducts.
Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the IRUWASA Board of Directors and the Parent Ministry.
Qualifications and Working Experience .
Holder of Bachelor Degree or an Advanced Diploma in the field of Engineering, Human Resources Management, Law, Economics, Finance, Commerce or Business Administration, Public Administration or Human Resources Management. The applicant must be registered with a relevant professional Board (if any).
A Postgraduate qualification in the field of Engineering, Water Resources Management, Law, Economics, Finance, Commerce or Business Administration, Public/Administration or Human Resources Management is an added advantage. ., .
He or She should possess eighty (8) years of working experience in Water Supply and Sanitation, of which three (3) years should be at a managerial position.
Good interpersonal, communication 'end Computer knowledge and skills are necessary requirements.
Remuneration ,
According to IRUWASA Salary Scale : IWAS 12 (FIXED)
Tenure of Appointment
Appointment will be on contractual terms (four years) renewable upon working good performance.
