Development cooperation - your concern?
You understand the strong need for direct dialogue between people when it comes to initiating and furthering development processes. You are looking for a job which focuses on the concerns and hardships of people, organisations and communities. And you are ready for a challenging new position with a high level of personal responsibility. If this describes you, then we can offer you the following position:
Integrated Development Worker (m/f) to support the
diocesan and hospital administration departments in Lindi and Nyangao, Tanzania #3029
diocesan and hospital administration departments in Lindi and Nyangao, Tanzania #3029
The Lindi region, located in the south of the country on the Indian Ocean, is among the poorest and most structurally weak regions in Tanzania. The large majority of local people live on subsistence farming in small, hard to reach villages. The hospital in Nyangao, which was founded by German Benedictine nuns, is the only hospital in the district of Lindi Rural. As the official district hospital, it is responsible for providing healthcare to around 200,000 people and has all the departments important for basic services in curative and preventive medicine. The hospital has 220 beds; every year, it delivers around 1,500 babies and examines and treats around 70,000 patients in the large outpatient clinic.
In addition to a serious shortage of doctors, nurses and midwives, the lack of qualified administrative personnel poses considerable challenges for the hospital. The huge deficits in the fields of financial management and general hospital management are to be addressed by deploying a qualified and experienced development worker with expert knowledge.
Your tasks...
... take place in a complex, difficult institutional environment and contribute directly to improving the hospital administration in Nyangao and the administrative structures of the owner, the diocese Lindi. Skills, efficiency and effectiveness are to be improved overall, thereby ensuring the economic viability of the hospital.
