RAHCO was established under Section 5 of Railway Act No, 4 of 2002, The Company was established following the Concession of the Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) to a new railway operator,
The main roles and functions of RAHCO are inter alia, to acquire by operations of the Act or otherwise the rail transport functions of the Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) and such of its property, including choses-in - action, rights and liabilities transferred to it to assume the provision of, or to provide rail infrastructure on behalf of. the Government, to develop, promote and to manage the rail infrastructure- assets and to enter into agreements with other persons in order to secure the provision of rail transport services, whether by means of concession, joint venture, public-private partnership or other means,

POSITION: LEGAL OFFICER
REPORTS TO: COMPANY SECRETARY
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS
To follow up legal cases in Courts of Law and external Advocates assigned to handle various cases
Conduct legal research
To draft legal documents, legal opinion 'and memoranda
To file and serve legal documents in court and to other parties to a legal matter
To prepare position papers on certain legal issues to be used to advise the management
To prepare with the help of external Advocates progress reports of pending cases
To conduct any other duty assigned to him by his supervisor
KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Holders of a Bachelor in Laws degree (LLB) from accredited training institution
Certificate from the Law school of Tanzania is compulsory
Should have not less than two (2) years of working experience in drafting legal documents
Should be Conversant with Company Commercial, Employment and Labour Relations,
Contract and Procurement Laws, and Regulations
Should possess skills, knowledge and experience in report writing
Should have good communication and interpersonal skills
Age Limit: 'Below 35 years,
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES OF GENERAL NATURE
Applicants should not have been convicted of any criminal offences in any court of Law in Tanzania or otherwise
