SNV is a not-for-profit international development organisation with long-term, local presence in over 30 of the poorest countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. THE ROLE
SNV seeks a seasoned manager and proven Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) professional who would like to take on the challenge to lead the global M&BD team (20 professionals). The role includes the development and integration of the corporate marketing, innovation, customer and business development strategies and steering of business development operations in order to achieve global order intake targets. Reports directly to the CEO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads and implements the corporate marketing, innovation and donor strategies;
- Advises the Managing Board on risks and opportunities of strategic choices and BD investments;
- Builds and maintain a strategic overview of key customer and partners, develops relationships at strategic level for the different sectors, and ensures that SNV is professionally and cohesively profiled;
- Manages the M&BD team in creating a healthy pipeline, ensuring high success rates in prospect and bid development and oversees the delivery of high quality M&BD services to the sectors;
- Leads development and maintenance of SNV’s corporate branding;
- Contributes to creating an enabling internal BD environment by steering policy, tools and skills development.
REQUIREMENTS
- Post-graduate qualification in a field related to international development, marketing or business administration
- Advanced work experience with an elaborate track record in Business Development, marketing and/or fundraising at a global level;
- Experienced manager of multidisciplinary teams with strong influencing and persuading skills;
- Understands the development sector and SNV’s position in it;
- Apt at translating customer strategies and requirements to approaches in Business Development;
- Advanced work experience in marketing and customer strategy development
- Extensive and in-depth knowledge and understanding of implicit and explicit customer and competitor strategies and funding modalities;
- Solid international network of customers and partners, strong networking skills;
- Entrepreneurial skills, commercial drive with a strong focus on results;
- Excellent communication skills in English (both spoken and written);
- Must be willing to travel occasionally.

DUTY STATION: The Hague, the Netherlands.
CONTRACT PERIOD: 3 years contract, extendable
