The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) is a semi- autonomous statutory body under the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training. TCU is mandated to recognize, approve, register and accredit universities operating in Tanzania and local or foreign University level programmes. TCU also' coordinates the proper functioning of all university institutions in Tanzania so as to foster harmonized higher education in the country.
The Commission offices are currently located at Garden Road (Near TPOC Estate), Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam. Tanzania Commission for Universities now invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions:
To help and guide successful applicants with the formalities related to admission into local and foreign higher education institutions;

Duty, Station: Dar es Salaam
Report to: Director of Accreditation and Quality Assurance
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To perform tasks related to accreditation and registration of both' public and private university institutions
To check and verify the genuineness of documents and other facts and information supplied by applicants of accreditation and/or registration;
To participate in the inspection and technical evaluation of the institutions and make appropriate
recommendations;
To monitor and report on progress and performance of university institutions and make appropriate recommendations;
To monitor and report on, progress made by university institutions in implementing
Commission's guidelines and directives;
To develop and update the standard criteria "and procedures for accrediting proqrarnmes and courses of university institutions;
To monitor, collect detailed data and report, on the diversity, quality relevance and logistics of programmes and courses offered by higher education institutions;
To assist in the evaluation and equation of academic and professional awards;
To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Academic Qualifications-and Experience
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and experience:
Holder of a Bachelor Degree In Education or Education
Planning or Management or Social sciences or equivalent qualification. ICT Skills in Computer applications are essential, with not less than three years experience in areas of specialization.
Personal Attributes
In addition to the above skills and qualifications applicants for the above position are required to have the following attributes:
A very high level of integrity, honesty and sense of responsibility;
Ability to work in a dynamic team;
Ability to produce expected results;
Ability to self manage and meet deadlines;
Willingness to work beyond the call of duty;
Computer literacy;
Must not be above 35 years of age.
Successful candidate will be paid according to Tanzania
Commission for Universities salary scale.
