The Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI) was established by the Act of Parliament No.20f 1996. The Institute is a semi-autonomous organization which operates at "arm's length" under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. The Institute has various roles which all stem on the main role of controlling cancer in Tanzania. The Institute is currently looking for qualified Tanzania citizens to fill the following
vacancies:
Medical Record Assistant 11- PMGSS 6 (2 Posts)
Reports to: Record Manager
a) Duties
i) Collecting, tabulating, analyzing and interpret disease and patient's statistics to make them available to relevant stakeholders for
planning diagnostic and decision making purposes.
ii) Registering patients, filing and retrieving patients' records.
iii) Planning and designing alternative methods for collection, storage, and reir eval of health records by using modern technology.
iv) Facilitating availability of health records and statistical data for the purposes of carrying out research.
v) Sensitizing Institute workers on suitable means for storage of health records and information.
vi) Carrying out clinical coding and classification of disease and their diagnosis.
vii) Performing any other duties related to his/her work as assigned by his/her superior.
b) Qualification
Holder of Diploma in Health or Medical Records from a recognized institution.
