Projects Abroad is looking to employ
Communications Officers in destination. This individual should have an
infectious enthusiasm for telling stories as well as being passionate about
social responsibility. An enthusiasm for digital journalism and the use of its
modern tools is a must as you will be required to write stories, take videos,
take pictures as well as use social media platforms.
Your
Role & Responsibilities
To identify and develop communications material
that demonstrates how Projects Abroad, along with its projects, project
partners and volunteers is working to affect positive and worthwhile change.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be proficient in:

Writing feature articles
-
Writing press releases
-
Taking photographs to accompany
stories
-
Using anDSLR camera to film interviews,
cultural events and striking landscapes.

Social media platforms
including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
The candidate will also have media liaison
duties which would include:

Identifying and building
relationships with local press
·
Track what stories are given to
what publications / news sources (both digital and press) and capture the
actual published content so that this can be distributed to global network
·
Monitoring local media for any
positive and negative publicity
·
liaising with journalists/media
outlets and map their areas of focus against the organisation’s
