The study intervenes at pharmacies and uses the pharmacies to refer presumptive TB patients to TB diagnostic and treatment centers of the National TB and Leprosy Program (NTLP).

Summary

Duties and responsibilities
- To recruit, follow-up and provide clinical care to all study participants on a daily basis.
- To ensure all study related forms are properly and accurately filled and data is entered on daily in electronic data capturing tools.
- To respond to queries, concerns and issues raised by the supervisor/principal investigator or a monitor.
- To ensure that participants’ privacy and confidentiality are maintained.
- To supervise participating pharmacies and track progress of the participants recruitment and referral to the designated health center.
- To communicate with other study staff regularly at scheduled meetings and active participation in all meetings.
- To ensure the study is done according to the working protocol and adherence to the ICH Guidelines of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- To maintain close professional relationship with government officials in the study area.
- To work with the study coordinator and PI to ensure that the study specific SOPs are complete, accurate and are updated regularly.
- To work in a professional and ethical manner with competence, accountability and integrity.
- To provide weekly reports to the study team.
- To perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institute.
- At least 3 years’ experience.
- Experience in a clinical research will be an added advantage.
- Well-developed computer skills
- Motor vehicle / cycle driving licence is essential

- Sensitivity to the economic, cultural and political issues that affects research activities in a Tanzanian context
- Proven good interpersonal skills
- Adherence to strict ethical and confidential standards
