Reporting to: Project Coordinator
Location: RTP Offices in Rwanda.

III.    JOB SUMMARY:
The Right To Play Project Assistant is responsible for building the capacity of coach trainers and coaches to enhance the delivery of quality sport and play activities to children and youth. The Project Assistant works closely with the Project Coordinators, in the day-to-day running of the program, coordinating trainings and reporting to the National Program Coordinator periodically. With the current expansion plans and demands of RTP, traveling within the country is a required component of this position.
Line of contact with children and young people
Requires post holder to be in contact with children and youth in program area in Rwanda frequently, and with RTP PCs, coaches/coach trainers. The incumbent will be subject to Right To Play’s Child Protection Policy.
 IV.    Responsibilities AND TASKS:
Job Responsibility # 1:Project Management and administration
Plan and work under the supervision and guidance of Project Coordinator to:
  • Conduct regularly Coach and Child tracking visits, monitoring and evaluation of project performance (for data collection, entry and analysis).
  • Render financial accountability for trainings, motivation of leaders and on any event undertaken
  • Provide a weekly project brief
  • Follow up logistic administrative and other related issues as needed,

Job Responsibility # 2:Training
Work under the supervision and guidance of PC to: 
  • Identify training needs of Leaders in collaboration with the Coach Trainer
  • Deliver training to School Teachers, Trainers and Trainers of  public and private schools and other I/NGOs and CBOs on standard of RTP Modules
Time:  25%
Job Responsibility # 3:Activity Implementation
Work under the supervision and guidance of Project Coordinator to:
  • Facilitate regular sport and play activities in RTP modules, inclusive Coach 2 Coach, Youth as a Leader, Red Ball Child Play, Early Childhood Program, and Live Safe Play Safe.
  • Implement sport and play activities during festivals, events or any other special days
  • Manage the motivation demands of Leaders and quality of implementation of programs
  • Maintain a standard in qualitative activity plans development and implementation

Job Responsibility # 4:Partnerships
  • Support the Project Manager to maintain formal partnerships for effective implementation of RTP programming at the  sector and district levels.
  • Identify and propose  concepts and project ideas for proposals
Time: 5 %
Job Responsibility # 5:Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Monitor the utilization and condition of equipment provided to Leaders for activity implementation
  • Assist PCs in monitoring the weekly, monthly and annual plans for all Coach Trainers and Supervisors
  • Gather initial coach and child tracking data for entry into the project database and periodically plan and support the training of new leaders for project expansion.
  • Participate in periodic meetings with RTP staff to assist with issues of program development and sustainability
  • Ensure children and youth are tracked in a manner to see the changes in their lives and report accordingly
  • Produce Monthly, quarterly  reports on the zonal of affectation

 V.      Qualifications

a) Education: 
Bachelor degree in Physical Education, Education or Social Sciences.
b) Experience and Core Competencies
  • Strong training and facilitation skills; Background in adult education is preferred
  • Participation in sport and play; experience leading organized or recreational activities for children
  • Personal sport and activity background with coaching experience.
  • Proven experience in Result based project management; including research and strategy, planning, and financial management
  • Proven experience in training and motivating staff;
  • Experience in working with International NGOs
  • Previous experience in social works and / or Refugee Camps

D) KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Fluency in English/French Language and Kinyarwanda.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, and confidence using these in a cross cultural environment
  • Effective reporting writing and analytical skills
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Commitment to work in the rural  community areas
  • Holding a Motorbike Driving License is an asset
VI.    Salary: We offer a competitive salary
VII.  Employment Start Date: June 2014
VIII. Contract Duration: One year contract renewable (Maternity Leave vacancy)
