This is a unique opportunity to join a newly rising
organization within the social enterprise sector. Based in Arusha, the AISE
team is looking for a business development professional with a passion for
community-driven innovation to lead the growth of the AISE network and community.
As part of our lean team, you will play an integral role
to the future of our organization. You will work closely with the founder and
leaders of AISE as well as our worldwide supporters, such as USAID and MIT.
This on-the-ground role will be challenging, but it will change your life. Your
responsibilities will be wide-ranging, and we need a creative team mate who is
flexible, independent, and determined to join and grow with us.

are AISE, which stands for Accelerating Innovation & Social
Entrepreneurship. Our goal is to build a thriving innovation &
entrepreneurial ecosystem in Arusha and its surrounding communities through a
three-pronged approach:
1. Educational programming for children
and adults interested in community-driven innovation.
2.
A
community space for encouraging collaboration and showcasing local
technologies.
3.
A
Maker Space for members of the AISE community to explore their ideas with our
tools and design & business experts.

builders, designers, creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs. We believe

THE OPPORTUNITY
The
Director of Partnerships is responsible for growing the AISE community and network.
From increasing the number of people building inventions in our Maker Space and
engaging in our programming to seeking out corporate and local partners to
visiting villages and working with village governance, the Director of
Partnerships will be the official face of AISE that reaches out to the
community.

REPORTING
The Director of Partnerships is an
independent member of AISE and works directly
with
the Director of Development & Director of Technology.
SPECIFIC
RESPONSIBILITIES Your main responsibilities will include:
· Expanding the AISE community by reaching out
to, having discussions with,
organizing
site visits to, and following up with schools, villages,
organizations
interested in community-driven innovation, etc.
· Actively seeking out and building
partnerships with local businesses,
educational
institutions, international NGOs, community-based
organizations,
and governments.
· Creating and updating a database with all
(potential) partnership details
As
a small company, you will be expected to support your teammates as they
support
you in delivering your responsibilities. We can only succeed together. You
will
be working both closely with your teammates as well as completely
independently
on your own, and you must be flexible, self-motivated, determined,
and
have excellent communication skills.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred

Work
experience: Over 3 years of experience in business development, ideally
directly engaging partners, preferred

skills: Experienced at Microsoft Office, ideally database/reporting experience

Bilingual
ability: able to communicate in conversation and writing in both English and
Swahili
