Deputy Head of Finance
Working under the Head of Finance, the incumbent will have an important function to balance two key areas of the business, complying with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements whilst providing advice on the efficient allocation of resources.
These will be delivered through:
Reporting on the achievement of financial targets through effective revenue growth, risk and cost management Ensuring capital adequacy with the objective of ensuring optimal capital levels are maintained, balancing the cost of idle capital against the requirement to ensure funding for medium and long term business growth.
Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, checks and controls.
Understanding what resources are required to generate which types of assets, liabilities and fee income Evaluation of the soundness of business propositions and opportunities
Evaluation and management of information to support business decision making and controls. Ensuring close coordination of the Country Finance function with the Group Finance team.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
•University graduate with a professional CPA/ACCA qualification.
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
A minimum of 5 years post-qualification accounting experience three years of which should preferably be in a banking environment in a senior position.
Demonstrated leadership skills and good word processing skills, strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional spreadsheet and data analysis ability.
Good at managing large volumes of information and can add value through management reporting. Independent and logical thinker, yet an achiever and implementer.
