Senior Programme Officer (Governance)

The Senior Programme Officer responsible for delivering on civil society organisations (CSOs) governance engagement is a key position contributing to core Commonwealth Foundation outcomes. The position offers a dynamic, innovative opportunity to develop effective CSO Governance engagement processes. You will provide direct technical support to the design and delivery of key interventions for engagement, identifying strategic spaces for engagement within and beyond the Commonwealth to developing plans to support and deliver these engagement models. You will build strategic relationships with key CSO leaders and partners particularly in the global south and with regional governance and strategic global institutions

You will have a real passion and ability to work with diverse stakeholders, great at building and maintaining key relationships with political and cultural sensitivity, be an excellent communicator and team player and hold our values in everything you do. A postgraduate education in a relevant area and a good understanding of civil society organisations and participatory governance are essential. Your experience in programme management ideally working in an international development organisation and working with CSO-Governance constructive engagement processes is an asset. Knowledge and understanding of working in a developing country and of international development issues, trends and approaches is very important, as is willingness to travel on short term field assignments.
