The Institute of Legal Practice & Development (ILPD) is responsible for the practical training of legal professionals in Rwanda. The ILPD offers two diploma programmes-the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (DLP) and the Postgraduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting. In addition to the diploma programmes, the institute offers continuing legal education training, conducts research and engages in policy-related legal research and consultancy.
The institute now wishes to recruit dynamic, competent individuals to the position of lecturer in law, Research Coordinator, and Human resource officer. The job descriptions of each of the positions are given below.
Job description
1. Lecturers (3)
Responsibilities
- Teaching courses on the DLP;
- Preparing guidelines and schemes for teaching the module;
- Setting problem questions, exercises and exams for the module;
- Marking exercises and exams;
- Supervise students research papers;
- Undertaking research activities;
- Developing modules or materials for short courses;
- Participate in the teaching of short courses;
- Under taking other academic tasks assigned to him/her.
Requirements
- Be Rwandan by Nationality;
- Have at least Master Degree in Law with at least 3 years working experience as a judge, prosecutor or as an advocate.
- Having a Diploma in Legal Practice will be considered as an advantage.
- Be fluent in English is a must
