Job Description
Fenix International (http://fenixintl.com) is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and experienced engineer to provide technical service leadership for the Fenix suite of renewable energy products. This person will work with a growing Tanzania team, as well as the East Africa Regional Business Development & Sales Managers, to ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬help design and oversee after-sales services, conduct internal and external product training, provide technical support for product testing and pilots, manage inventory and repairs, and provide regular reports on technical issues.This person will also assist with hiring and managing other technical staff, and will participate in and provide input into new product design, development & distribution.

Candidates must have a passion for engineering, entrepreneurship, renewable energy and sustainable development in Frontier Markets. This position will be located in Tanzania and requireprimarily domestic travel. Some regional travel may also be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Help design and oversee after-sales services
• Provide technical support for product testing and pilots with multinational corporations, international NGOs, microfinance institutions, and local distribution partners
• Conduct technical product training with both Fenix employees and service partners
• Manage inventory of products & spare parts
• Manage and conduct repairs
• Collect, analyze and report data on technical issues and repairs
• Hire and manage other Tanzania technical staff
• Provide ICT support to Fenix team members

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years work experience
• Leadership or management experience
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalentprofessional experience.
• Ability to summarize and clearly communicate technical specifications of Fenix products for written and verbal presentations
• Ability to manage inventory of products and spare parts
• Familiarity with debugging and repairing electronic circuit boards
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
• Comprehensive fluency in English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Google Apps
• Ability and drive to develop goals and work independently

Highly Desired Skills

• Business level competency of Swahili and English
• Experience managing inventory and/or after-sales services
• Understanding of renewable energy technologies and industry in East Africa
