The usual recruitment rate for this post (Grade 2) is £37,735 with future pay progression within the pay band from £37,735 to £41,928.
As Manager – Africa Grants, you will ensure effective monitoring and timely delivery of projects and compliance with donor standards and internal processes. You’ll be responsible for developing new business opportunities and leading and coordinating proposal development processes, representing Plan’s initiatives and programme learning to new and existing institutional donors and, with your team, achieving stretch income targets.
You’ll also be responsible for improving impact and ensuring overall delivery of objectives on time and on budget for Plan UK’s Africa-based projects. You will manage and support Programme Officers in project cycle management, and in capacity and skills development for Country Office staff.
We’re looking for someone with experience of managing international development grants and the ambition and ability to develop new partnerships and secure funding from new and existing donors. You should have excellent people management and motivational skills, including experience of coaching and providing technical support to colleagues. In particular, we’d like you to have experience with EU and large DfID grants, and knowledge of the current donor funding and accountability landscape.
Fluency in French as well as English is required, and technical expertise in at least one of WASH, child protection or youth economic security projects will be an advantage.
