I-TECH is currently recruiting a Country Director for the I-TECH Mozambique office. This position requires an individual with demonstrated expertise in public health and global health program management and capacity development. Effective communication with diverse staff, the local Ministry of Health and other governmental bodies, US-based funders, and other implementing partners within and beyond Mozambique is essential. The Mozambique Country Director must provide leadership in developing sustainable programs, and cope with rapid changes in both funding and programmatic direction as dictated by the funder. He or she must effectively use available resources and sophisticated problem-solving skills to meet these expectations.
Required credentials for this position are a master’s degree or higher in public health or a related field, and at least 5 years’ experience with a leadership role in complex, multi-faceted public health programs, including at least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role. Applicants should also have knowledge of program management, monitoring and evaluation methods, and the cultural and programmatic issues faced by resource-limited countries with high HIV prevalence, and be fluent in spoken and written Portuguese and English.
