Nuru International is accepting applications for a Monitoring and Evaluation Program Facilitator to support field staff working in Education, Agriculture, Health, Economic Development, and Leadership.
Timeline: Nuru Training in U.S.: May 20-30, 2013 Team in Kenya: June 2013 to June 2015, with breaks
Specific Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to the following): • Manage data collection and metrics o Assist staff with understanding and strengthening systems for collection, analysis and reporting of operational and program metrics o Assist with maintenance and refinement of logic models, resulting program metrics, operational metrics and data collection plans o Develop and field-test data collection tools • Assist with data-driven decision-making o Perform data analysis & support field staff with ability to perform data analysis, using statistical software o Support feedback loops for reporting of data to impact programs and other appropriate stakeholders o Provide data in a format for ease of use • Continue maintenance and development of a database storage system, possibly including the development of a mobile-phone based system o Become familiar with Salesforce database system, help support development of database with stateside staff/consultants and support local staff in database understanding and management o Provide necessary training to staff o Work to understand the needs of impact programs for data collection and storage, possibly with the use of alternate technologies o Make recommendations on long-term solutions • Manage and coach Kenyan M&E staff, supporting independent decision making of Kenyan staff • Act as M&E Liaison to Nuru field staff o Provide field perspective on M&E strategy and plans o Manage collection of weekly Nuru Operational Updates from field staff o Conduct special projects and general administrative duties as assigned
Specific Skills and Attributes: • Graduate degree (either MA, MPH, MPA or MBA) or undergrad within 2-3 years of work/ volunteer experience • 2 – 4 years prior experience living and working in the developing world • Experience with data analysis using a statistical software package, like Stata, SAS, R, or SPSS • Experience with relational databases preferred, such as MS Access or similar • Ability to do crisis management and rapid, innovative problem solving in uncertain environments
