Under the direct supervision of the Country Manager (Seed System Specialist/Seed Dissemination & Communication Expert/GIS Specialist) the SADO will coordinate seeds production, distribution, networking, and capacity building of the stakeholders with the help of national partners and ADOs. He/she will be responsible for the conduct of field demonstrations, survey, gathering and analysis of data to produce reports for the project management.
Major accountabilities/Responsibilities
• Develops linkages with national partners (NGOs, GOs, seed growers, dealers and farmers organizations/farmers for organizing varietal demonstrations, seed minikits distribution, seed multiplication, awareness generation, and capacity building activities, and proper documentation of these activities.
• Develops programs for seed multiplication and up scaling
• Organizes field days and training for different stakeholders
• Evaluates training activities provided to the project partners and stakeholders
• Produces monthly, quarterly, and annual M&E reports through analysis of the collected information from the field
• Supervises the agricultural development officers in designated 5 to 6 districts
Qualification requirements
• Masters in Agriculture related fields
• Minimum one year experience of working with research organization/NGO/GO
• Good communication skills for collection of agricultural related qualitative and quantitative information, especially rice and cereal seeds, from different stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience to conduct survey, collection of qualitative and quantitative information, use of monitoring tools, handling of large data set, analysis of agricultural related data and reporting
• Should be able to drive motorcycles and hold a valid driver's license for the same
