Purpose of Role
- To support the development & alignment of Group Strategy, Mission and Business development to ensure Group business objectives are achieved
- To work as a business partner to deliver solutions to the “Highest Value at Stake” (HVAS) issues and opportunities confronting EABL/Diageo.
- To bring financial understanding to business decisions by ensuring alternatives are thoroughly evaluated and the optimum business decision taken
- To drive robust planning processes across the business to ensure that excellent forecasts, planning, valuation modelling, MAs & strategic plans are developed.
- To identify strategic opportunities that will lead to further development of capability & resources linking to the overall Group business strategy.
TOP 3-5 Accountabilities
Stakeholder Management and Influencing
· Ensure work requirements on confidential “high value at stake” transactions with Exec (senior management) is met
· Ensure thorough identification, exploration, analysis on transactions that create value for EABL/Diageo in line with agreed strategic direction and financial investment criteria.
· Facilitate & communicate stakeholders communications
Business Partnering
· Participate, influence and add value in business issues. Highlight and action potential opportunities and risks.
· Constructively challenge, input and maximise value in key business areas and drive exceptional business performance through rigorous business planning, forecasting and valuation modelling
· Creating different structural options and assessing the financial and legal implications of each
Project /Change Management
· Drive projects outside day-to-day activities that involve significant financial, tax and legal analysis.
· Ensure timely delivery of key strategic projects-transaction and project management
3rd Party and Internal Negotiation Management
· Support successful negotiations in competitive bidding scenarios-3rd party & internal stakeholders and related to Business Development Projects
· Sound commercial understanding of contracts, aligned agreements that will deliver additional value.
· Investor Relations
· Represents EABL to the investor community
Strategic Thinking
· Drive issues and opportunities agenda through a rigorous strategic thinking, framing and analysis to build on creation of value as well as aligned to the Group business objectives and strategic direction.
· Enhance understanding of “what” drives performance.
· Drive decision support in the Key business projects through, Value chain analysis, Risk Assessment, Issues & Opportunities analysis, managing for value, EP analysis, change control, culture analysis, project management
People Performance
· Coach and develop others across organisation (e.g. on HVAS)
· Align/upgrade capabilities to business agenda & build cross functional team working skills
· Search & spin on issues across networked environment
· Build relationships externally & internally
Qualifications and Experience Required
· Business Degree level with strong academic record
· Strong understanding of Finance - MBA and Professional Qualification, i.e. CPAK, CIM etc is an added advantage
· Project and change management
Experience:
· 6 –8 years FMCG experience – which must include extended period within financial role - ideally with exposure to strategic management
· Good relationship management and interpersonal skills
· Good communication, influencing and negotiating skills
· Good understanding of strategy development and implementation.
· Good understanding of project/Change management,
· Coaching and people management
· Presentation, report writing and research skills
