Job summary
Reporting to the Administration and Finance Manager, the Human Resource Officer shall be responsible to manage the human resources function at the Foundation.
Main duties
• To develop and administer human resource policies and procedures.
• To assist in coordination of performance management process.
• To maintain accurate employees records in personal files and human resource database.
• To administer staff leave and payroll functions including salary changes.
• To coordinate staff recruitment process.
• To coordinate induction process for new staff members.
• To coordinate staff training.
• To maintain compliance with Tanzanian employment laws.
• To administer staff benefits as per the Foundation’s policies and procedures.
• To performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor/ line manager
Required qualifications
• Degree in Human Resources Management
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position is essential
• Excellent communication/ interpersonal relationship skills
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili both in writing and speaking
• Knowledge of Tanzanian employment laws

Accountant
Job Summary
Reporting to the Administration and Finance Manager, the Accountant shall be responsible to oversee the prudent financial resource utilization processes in line with established policies and procedures of the Foundation and statutory requirement.
Main Duties
• Ensure books of account, ledgers are prepared and maintained to professional standards.
• Ensure timely posting of data into Pastel Accounting software.
• Ensure timely and thorough review of staff expense reports and processing thereof into accounting software.
• Ensure timely processing of grants contract and disbursements into accounting software.
• Liaise with the Foundation’s bankers on matters related to banking transactions.
• Prepare periodical financial reports and cash flow projections.
• Prepare annual financial statements in a timely manner to facilitate timely external audit.
• Liaise and coordinate external audit and ensure its effectiveness.
• Provide information to and respond to queries from the Internal Audit Unit in a timely manner.
• Provide accounting support services to Grant Making and Capacity Building Services as per agreed timeframes.
• Liaise and co-ordinate with the Grants and Capacity Building Services department teams and senior managers on financial and contractual issues.
• Liaise and co-ordinate with the Grants Manager over the application of sanctions to grants recipients.
• Perform regular reconciliations of grantees information from the accounting software.
• Ensure that all secretariat staff, contractors, agents, suppliers, clients comply with the Foundation’s financial regulations and procedures.
• Ensure that the secretariat staff involved in contracting and procurement activities comply with the Foundation’s contracting regulations and quality assurance procedures.
• In consultation with Human Resource Section, ensure timely preparation of staff payroll.
• Ensure compliance with the Foundation’s budget.
• Provide input to the Foundation’s Procurement Committee.
• Assist in the review of financial procedures and controls for the Foundation.
• To provide training to grant recipients on financial management of funded projects.
• To ensure compliance with statutory requirement.
• Perform any other duty as may be assigned by line manager.
Required qualifications
• University Degree in B.Com /Advanced Diploma majoring in Accounting from a recognized higher learning institution
• A holder of recognized accounting professional qualification i.e. CPA (T) or ACCA, registered with NBAA.
• At least three years experience in reputable grant making organizations or donor funded projects in a similar position will be an added advantage.

• Ability to use Pastel accounting package shall be an added advantage. Experience in other accounting packages shall be considered.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, especially MS Excel Spreadsheets and Word.
• Good Interpersonal and communications skills.

• Ability to report accurately and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to perform complex financial analysis.

Job summary
Reporting to Grants Manager, the Program Officer - Grants shall be responsible to review and screen grantees applications, prepare contracts, support visits to grantees, conduct information sessions to prospective grantees and maintain grantees information in the database.
Main Duties
• To review and screen grants applications in line with the Foundation grants procedures and regulations:
• To ensure adequate contracts management and compliance by grantees, regularly monitoring progress by reporting measures, selective site visits as prescribed in the Foundation’s grants procedures and regulations
• To ensure accurate and regular information is sent to grant applicants on the status of their applications
• To ensure accurate information about the Foundation grantees is maintained in the database
• To prepare periodic reports for management purposes and other stakeholders
• To prepare high quality written materials for donor reports, training materials, grantee agreements, and other program documentations
Required qualifications
• Master in social sciences with at least three years experience in grants or project management, monitoring and evaluation, policy and development.
• An in depth knowledge of the civil society sector and development processes in Tanzania.
• An in depth knowledge of MKUKUTA/MKUZA.
