BACKGROUND
Supervising a team of 3 staff, the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Project Head is responsible for ensuring the success of the ERP implementation in IUCN in full alignment with IUCN’s business model. The ERP project is overseen by a core group of stakeholders and the IUCN’s Global Management Team (GMT).
The core modules of the ERP system went live at IUCN’s Headquarters in July 2011. Deployment to other IUCN locations is envisaged to commence in the second quarter of 2012.
The ERP Project Head is accountable for the entire project, including definition, planning, execution, and close-out (sign-off). He/She will prepare and implement project plans, ensuring that the system is delivered in accordance with agreed requirements.
The responsibility of this position is to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget and to the entire satisfaction of internal users and management. The incumbent will work in close collaboration with business users making sure the ERP system is fully functional and in line with organizational requirements.
The ERP system in IUCN is based on the following
- Serenic Navigator (Microsoft Dynamics NAV)
- Serenic Award Vision (grants management system)
- Serenic ERP Administration Portals
- Programme & Project Planning System (under development)
The contract for this position is for one year with the possibility of renewal for an additional year.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish and develop relationships with managers and heads of units, seek feedback and ensure the system meets user requirements
• Lead by influence and work with a variety of people at different organizational levels to achieve desired results
• Identify change management requirements and develop strategies for implementing changes to processes and working practices
• Achieve established objectives and deadlines; ensure that project milestones are met, and project deliverables are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification
• Prepare a deployment plan for worldwide implementation of the ERP, including resource planning, training and support
• Ensure that the ERP system is fully integrated with other IUCN systems including, but not restricted to, HRMS, CRM and SharePoint.
• Lead and motivate a project team that delivers high quality work
• Troubleshoot and resolve project-related issues
• Make quick, informed decisions about technical problem areas
• Ensure adequate budget control and provide timely reports and forecasts to senior management
• Manage contracts and task orders with external consultants
• Develop strategies and methodologies to ensure successful project implementation
• Prepare presentations and reports to the Steering Committee and other groups as per specifications of line manager
REQUIREMENTS
• Masters in computer science, engineering and/or related discipline or equivalent level of experience
• Project management qualification
• Solid track record in ERP Project Management and successful ERP implementations (min. 5-8 years)
• Previous experience within international organizations and not-for-profits
• Knowledge of the Serenic product line (Navigator, Award Vision, Portals) an advantage
• Proven experience in strategic planning processes and project management approaches
• Excellent management skills including human and financial resources
• Experienced user of MS Office tools (Excel, Projects, Visio)
• Good knowledge of relational database and SQL knowledge
• Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills
• Autonomous in delivery, yet a strong team player
• Articulate verbal/written communications and exhibits strong presentation skills
• Strong organizational, people and project management skills
• Hands-on and operational person who always has the bigger picture and strategy in mind
• Fluent in English and, preferably, another of IUCN’s official languages (Spanish or French)
• Willing to travel
SALARY
The gross annual salary for this position is in the range from CHF 138'080 to CHF 172'600, subject to deductions for social security contributions and second-pillar pension, and before tax.
