Duty station: Kabarole , Kamwenge , Kyenjojo Reports to: District Health Officer Role definition: Providing safe, comfortable and reliable transportation to staff arid clients
Key Responsibilities:
• Transport staff and clients to required destination and back in accordance with the Baylor Uganda/ MoH SOPs and the Road Safety Act.
• Performing regular preventive maintenance and minor repairs where possible in order to keep the vehicle in good mechanical and functional condition.
• Maintaining documentation for administrative use such as mileage, fuel usage and – trip authorization tracking information.
• Ensuring that all reasonable measures are taken to protect the vehicle from theft or damage.

The successful candidate should have
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education with a credit in English.
• At least 10 years of proven accident free bus/ heavy vehicle driving in Uganda, preferably in a reputable institution.
• Valid Uganda driving permit class “DM” & or “DH”.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics and maintenance.
• Willingness to work in remote/ rural areas.
VIII. Records Assistant (10)
Duty station: Kabarole , Kamwenge , Kyenjojo
Reports to: District Health Officer
Role definition: Medical Records Assistants are responsible for storing all patient in proper order that facilitates easy retrieval when required and proper security, and carrying out proper entry of data into client files and computer systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Management of patient records and ensuring that they are safe and confidential
• Carry out storage and retrieval of patient files
• Records patient visits and other registration data into appropriate MOH tools including update of facility registers
• Compiles periodic HMIS reports
• Files all laboratory test results and other patient information in correct patient files
• Supervises facility departmental records in general ward/OPD
• Carries out inventory management
• Manages staff records at the facility
• Ensuring complete, accurate data collected by health workers
• Carry out timely data entry into computerized database
Requirement:

The successful candidate should have;
• Diploma in records management, Diploma in Library and Information Science
• Experience of at least two years in a busy organization Outstanding, accounting skills, advanced abilities in word-processing, spreadsheets, filing, and general computer use
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong writing skills are essential
• Ability to make decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of general office practices and procedures and compiling information
• Willingness to work in remote/rural area
VII. Theatre Assistant (10)
Duty station: Kabarole , Kamwenge , Kyenjojo
Reports to: District Health Officer
Role definition: To support the MNH services as a runner in theatre and labor ward by participating in the cleaning, disinfecting delivery and surgical instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cleans, disinfects, and packs delivery and surgical kits.
• Ensure cleaning of delivery rooms and theatre^. is carried out safely in accordance with agreed policies.
• Provides assistance to midwives and nurses for normal delivery and emergency obstetrics.
• Accompanies patients on referral and provides First aid if necessary.
• To treat each client with dignity, respect and understanding in accordance with Baylor -Uganda’s values.
• Maintain nursing records according to mandatory legal requirements ensuring that confidentiality I is maintained at all times.
• Any other duties as may be assigned.
Requirement:

The successful candidate should have;
• Completion of Training in Theatre attendants or Nurses with theatre training from a recognized education institution.
• Clinical experience will be an advantage.
• Pro-active and quick to learn with a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of good theatre or nursing procedures and practices.

VI. Laboratory Technician – (7 )
Duty station: Kabarole, Kamwenge , Kyenjojo
Reports to: District Health Officer
Role definition: To perform different laboratory tests to diagnose the different diseases, Identify disease cause and monitor the progression of disease among clients according to MOH standards.
Key Responsibilities
• To provide specimen containers for urine, stool and sputum to patients, and bleed patients/cell processing for different test according to Good Laboratory practices.
• Perform urine Pregnancy test on pregnant mothers as per the Doctor’s request according to Good Laboratory Practices.
• Perform HIV testing and Early Infant Diagnosis as part of PMTCT/EID Services.
• Perform plasma processing includes isolation, in addition to freezing and storage of the samples in line with the laboratory SOPs.
• Perform and participate in quality assurance and quality control procedures of the laboratory tests and laboratory equipment and manage waste as per Good laboratory practices
• Contribute to lab training activities and ongoing mentorship.
• To perform phlebotomy to children and adults.
• To perform routine laboratory tests in line with the MoH guidelines.
Requirement:

The successful candidate should have;
• A diploma in Medical laboratory Science.
• Additional qualifications in Laboratory Management is an added advantage.
• At least 2-3 years experience in Lab planning, Management and QA/QC
• Experience in Good Laboratory practice (GLP)
• Experience in design, development, and implementation of lab systems at different levels in the Health services especially working within the District Health systems.
• Registration with the Allied Health Professional Council is required.
• Willingness to work in remote/ rural areas.
V. Anaesthetic Officer (16)
Duty station: Kabarole .Kamwenge & Kyenjojo, Reports to: District Health Officer Role definition: To provide general anesthesia for obstetric emergencies in Health facilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide general anesthesia to general patients as well as Obstetric patients in Health Center IV and District hospitals.
Requirement:
Specifications
The successful candidate should have;
• Completion of anaesthetic training from a recognized education institution
• Basic Training in Nursing or clinical officer with additional training in Anesthesia is of added advantage’
• Minimum of 2 years, work experience in a busy clinical setting
Willingness to work in remote/rural areas. knowledge of good nursing procedures and practices
• Ability for team work
IV. Medical Officer: (15)
Duty station: Kabarole , Kamwenge & Kyenjojo,
Reports to: District Health Officer
Role definition: Medical officers will work with and in many cases provide leadership to the teams in Health facilities offering MCH services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with facility team in offering quality mother and child health services in accordance with MoH policies and procedures.
• Offer Emergency Obstetric services including Caesarean section operations.
• Participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
• Ensure the capacity of Health Workers in supported facilities is built through appropriate Continuous Professional Development sessions and Mentorship programme.
• Ensure timely forecasting and requisitions of MCH supplies and commodities from the NMS.
• Any others responsibilities assigned by management in line within project scope of work.

• Bachelors degree in Medicine and Surgery from recognized University.
• Completed internship and rotated in obstetrics and Gynecology
• Registration with the Uganda Medical Dental Practitioners Council

III Clinical Officer (18 )
Duty station; Kabarole, Kamwengs & Kyenjo
Reports to: District Health Officer
Role definition: The Clinical officer is responsible for providing clinical care to all patients with a focus on pregnant mothers -Goal Oriented ANC, participate in deliveries and Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care, provide quality PMTCT/ EID services for HIV positive mothers and their infants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Examining and diagnosing clinical ailments with focus on Maternal and Child Health.
• Prescribing treatment and administering medicaments.
• Admitting patients with complicated health ailments or referring them to other health units.
• Conducting health education and health sensitization programmes.
• Planning, supervising and ensuring implementation of MCH & PMTCT/EID programmes at the health centre.
• Counseling and advising patients in line with ailments.
• Participating in community public health awareness programme.
Requirement:

The successful candidate should have;
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health
• Have at least two (2) years in maternal health care working experience
• Possess interpersonal and communication skills
• Be self-motivated with high integrity.
• Registration with the relevant professional body is required.

II. Enrolled Midwives: (90)
Duty station: Kabarole, Kamwenge & Kyenjojo
Reports to: District Health Officer
Role definition: To provide quality care to mothers
who attend the antenatal clinic in accordance to
MoH policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provides quality care to Mothers who attend ANC clinic.
• Carry out normal deliveries.
• Identify and refer risk mothers to hospitals for care.
• Be able to provide basic Emergency Obstetric care.
• To treat each client with dignity, respect and understanding in accordance with Baylor-Uganda’s values.
• Maintain patient records according to mandatory legal requirements ensuring that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• Ensure MCH services are offered in accordance with MoH policies and procedures.
• Cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing delivery instruments after use.
Requirement:
Specifications
The successful candidate should have;
• Completion of course in midwifery from a recognized education institution or enrolled comprehensive certificate.
• Minimum of 1 years work experience in a busy clinical setting.
• Experience of working in a theatre setting is an added advantage.
• • Knowledge of good nursing procedures and practices, emergency ‘ obstetric care and new born care.

District Biostatistician (2)
Duty station: Kabarole & Kamwenge
Reports to: District Health Officer.
Role definition: To support the District to collect, analyze process, store and retrieve data on Maternal and Child health indicators for the District according to MoH standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Planning, budgeting and coordinating health data activities in the district.
• Developing Health Information system.
• Developing data Bank and ensuring data security.
• Compiling, analyzing data and submitting periodic reports.
• Support supervision for health imlts in records and data management.
• Participating in research activities in the district where applicable.
Requirement:
Specifications
The successful candidate should have;
• Honors degree in Biostatistics/Statistics
• Good interpersonal skills, communication skills and organizational skills.
• Good computer skills and knowledge of common Statistical analysis and database management packages such as Ms Access, Ms Excel, STATA, SPSS and EPiDATA.
• Experience working with local Government structures and civil society Organizations is an added advantage.
