GENERAL INFORMATION
Title: Project Manager, UN-Business Partnerships, Foundation for the Global Compact
Duration and Period: 1 year (with the potential to be renewed)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Liaise between the private sector and the UN System with an emphasis on connecting GC participants with potential UN partners and support various projects aimed at enhancing the capacity of the UN to partner with the private sector.
2) Develop and manage content for business.un.org, the on-line partnership platform for the private sector to connect with the UN System.
•Interact with Participating UN Entities including the Memorandums of Participation (MOPs) process; Co-ordinate biannual updates of content; Introduce and orient new focal points to the system: and field general enquiries and supporting users.
•Interact with the Private Sector and members of the public. Field general enquiries.
•Manage the relationship with Global Hand, ensure they manage any technical issues; continually develop and enhance the site based user needs and change requests.
•Develop and manage the content including uploading case studies, FAQs and other pages as required; respond content requests and manage translations of new content as necessary.
•Manage the System Administration Tasks including review and approval of new proposals made; adding new focal points and removing entities and users as necessary.
3) Promote UN-business collaboration and the business.un.org website both externally among the private sector and internally across the UN System.
•Externally: Manage a relationship with a public relations firm to raise awareness and enhance usage of the website; Speak at CSR events on behalf of the Global Compact to pitch the site to the media, place op-eds, etc
•Internally: Outreach to UN entities who are not yet participating to encourage them to use the site; Connect with Communications staff at other UN entities; Proactively reach out where projects match objectives of the website.
4) Support the organization of the Annual UN System Private Sector Focal Points Meeting and other UN-business events convened by the Global Compact Office including the UN Private Sector Forum.
•Support the development of the agenda as well as the logistics aspects of the events.
5) Act as a focal point to enhance synergies between the UN Global Compact Office and the UN Foundation, in particular around each entity’s respective role on the Secretary-General’s leadership initiatives Every Woman Every Child and Sustainable Energy for All.
6) Perform other miscellaneous tasks and communications work to support the Global Compact Office as needed.
COMPETENCIES
•Strong writing and speaking skills
•Strong communication and networking skills for liaising with various system stakeholders
•Project management skills
•Basic website management skills including basic HTML understanding would be ideal
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in the following areas: research and writing, public speaking, event management.
Language: Excellent communications and drafting capabilities in English. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage but not a requirement
