National Director Candidate Pool

World Vision (WV) is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty. The National Director is charged with both strategic and operational leadership of a National Office, and could be based in one of nearly 100 locations in our worldwide partnership. You will use your strong leadership skills to realize our mission statement “our vision for every child, life in all its fullness: our prayer for every heart, the will to make it so.”
We are seeking to increase our pool of qualified candidates to fill projected National Director vacancies for 2012 and are currently collecting CVs for our National Director Candidate Pool. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Strategically leading, directing, developing, and managing the implementation of all aspects of World Vision’s (WV) ministry as an effective member of the WV Partnership.
· Ensuring that WV holistic programming is child focused and is of the highest standard of quality, accountability, and cost effectiveness.
· Representing World Vision to all donors, project partners, other international World Vision offices, foreign and local government representatives, churches and other non-governmental organisations.
· Ensuring that World Vision is positioned as a leading NGO with respect to children and is a key figure in promoting the well-being and rights of children within the country context.
· Building a strong Senior Management Team, providing strategic guidance to monthly meetings and building management capacity, synergy and depth of leadership.
· Facilitating the development of effective teams at a Programme and National level.
REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:
· Track record of significant and successful senior management and leadership experience, both national and international. Former Country Director, Country Representative or Regional NGO field based leadership strongly preferred.
· Strong networking skills; previous experience building coalitions with bilaterals, multilaterals, government, foundations, churches, the NGO community and corporations.
· Knowledge of financial management, audit and compliance of multi-million USD budgets. Strong track record with donor agencies.
· Masters degree or equivalent experience in social sciences, management, international development or related field. MBA preferred.
· Fluency in English required. Fluency in a second language, in particular French, Spanish or Portuguese preferred or required based on geographical location of assignment.
· Strong understanding of Human Rights, particularly Child Rights.
· Experience in microfinance operations and/or nonprofit or corporate governance.
You must show a history of leading and managing large organizations with complex stakeholder environment, and you must be a mature leader with proven track record in generating results.
