LOCATION Beira (MOZAMBIQUE) DURATION 12 months REQUIRED COMPETENCIES University Degree in Agronomy or related subjects Previous experience ( 3-5 years) in development projects management and implementation Communication skills/ability to work in team ( CESVI local staff and beneficiaries) Fluency in Portuguese and Italian ( both written and spoken) DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES Work experience in Mozambique Ability to manage, coordinate and motivate project staff Knowledge of structures and functions of national agriculture agencies, donors and organizations WORK CONTEXT Cesvi supports seven communities in the Marracuene district for a total of about 6,000 people. The objective is to promote sustainable development in agricultural and fisheries activities and to help access to water and arable land. Together with the IUCN, Cesvi is involved in the creation of a Transfrontier area which embraces the national parks of three countries: Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe. The project aims to preserve the cultural and natural wealth of the area reinforcing the communities that live within the territory. Since 2010 Cesvi has also been active in the Matutuine district (Maputo Province) helping local inhabitants properly manage the natural resources in the communities. Two other operations in the food security sector are being undertaken in response to the rising cost of food in the Maputo and Sofala provinces. JOB DESCRIPTION The collaboration will start as soon as possible. The person will respond to the CESVI HQs Desk Officer International and local project partner will be fully involved in the activities implementation. Main tasks: Be responsible of the overall project management and implementation, in strict coordination with project partners and all concerned authorities; Supervise the administration, accounting, procurement of the project; He/she will manage relationships on daily basis with the local partner in the framework of the project plan of action and activities scheduling; He/she will produce planning documents, including related financial provisions, in coordination with the partners and under the supervision of the Desk Officer for Mozambique, at Headquarters level; He/she will produce periodic official reports according to project deadlines and donor-related requests, to be submitted to the Desk Officer for Mozambique for editing and final approval; He/she will ensure the elaboration of monthly internal report from the local partner to be submitted to the Desk Officer for Mozambique on achievements, projects, problems encountered, pertinent developments, and strategic needs; He/she will supervise all project activities, guaranteeing a constant support to local staff and other project stakeholders; He/she will guarantee clear documentation of all project activities, through reports and other visibility tools, as required and agreed upon with CESVI headquarters; He/she will be involved in visibility actions taken by CESVI headquarters in order to promote in-country Fundraising; He/she will attend meetings with the donor and stakeholders whenever required; He/she will be involved in the development of new project; He/she will report to the Desk Officer for Mozambique at HQs through.
