This position has direct reports to the Managing Director, indirectly reports to the Group HR Director. This position is responsible for controlling the business unit’s management and customer service development programmes including – reward, training, succession plans etc
Purpose of the Role:
• To assist the Group HR Director and Managing Director manage the development and implementation of EABL Kenya’s people strategy, supporting this key business unit and allocated functions.
• To lead aspects of the talent management / organisation effectiveness agenda’s of the business functions.
3-5 Top Accountabilities:
Organisation change
• Lead the organisational effectiveness and development agenda for the functions including Supply.
• Own the embedding of the HR operating model including capability building initiatives in conjunction with the HRD
Leadership
• Coach and support functional heads & leadership teams to deliver high performance
• Embed DLPP / BPC/ PMD in Leadership teams
• Orchestrate leadership interventions across functions in the business unit
Talent
• Delivery of the Performance Talent Review action plans
• Develop/leverage sustainable strategies to attract, develop and retain talent, including reward.
• Deliver sustainable strategies to build (internal and external) succession and talent pipelines
• Work effectively with the Talent Research Acquisition team and the Talent & OE manager for each function to execute against talent agenda
Employee Engagement
• Partner with the EE Manager to develop and deliver engagement and Inclusion and Diversity strategies for the Kenya Business Unit
• Measure organisational health and champion actions to improve
• Leverage reward and recognition to support employee engagement
Reward
• Ensure an approach to reward that is founded on local benchmark data, aligns with Diageo markets and reflects performance
• Support the execution of the salary and benefits review
• Partner with the Reward Manager to continually evaluate and develop our rewards approach & strategies.
• International assignees in and out of the Kenya are accurately processed to ensure a positive experience for them and their families in partnership with the Global Mobility team.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in a HR BP role
• Commercial insight and experience, preferably gained through cross functional working, and ability to take this commercial insight and translate into the Organisation and People agenda
• Proven ability to persuade, influence and build credibility at all levels
• Ability to cut through obstacles and develop pragmatic solutions
• Excellent coaching and relationship building skills, seen as a peer in the business
• Ability to building deep relationships across the functions.

• Industrial Relations experience
