Job Title: IT Officer
Reports to: Administrative Coordinator
Job Location: Dar-es-Salaam
Job Purpose: To provide overall IT support to the office, graphic design, web
development & management

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Support and Management

 Monitoring document security, configuration and troubleshooting essentials
 Maintaining group sharing of resources according to organization’s built structures from
super users to normal users with authenticity and responsibility of access of organization’s
materials/documents and files.
 Monitoring daily ICT services, back up, problem solving regarding the server and its
resources and services.
 Custodian of user names and passwords so that no external user will be allowed to access
organizations materials in the server.
 Software Installation and configuration.
 Review and maintain efficient and effective database backup procedures to enable the
provision of successful and accurate backups so that any data can be restored quickly
and efficiently
 Remote Desktop Assistance and Control.
 System Analysis and design
 Databases development and administration
 Hardware configuration, Upgrade and Maintenance
 Conduct risk assessment - on our IT equipments & server setup
 Maintain relevant and up to date knowledge of business and information technology.
 testing and evaluating new technology;
 conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment
Website management & development
 Content development and placement
 Social network and integration
 Monitor the server to see most popular pages and downloads and generate regular reports
Design and Branding:
 Design of reports and other communication materials for printing and electronic distribution;
 Improve and edit art-work, photos, charts and other graphic elements;
 Layout and design information and communication materials (banners, posters, booklets,
leaflets, books, calendars, bulletins, flyers, cards)
 Create animations for illustrative purposes such as animations, presentations and more
advanced solutions (design of CD/DVD packaging, graphic digitalization);
 Custom photo editing (restoration, noise reduction, tonal adjustment)
 Deliver creative graphic and technical solutions for use of new media (virtual 3D
words/boxes, postcards)

Education & Experience
 Bachelor’s degree in information technology or Advanced Diploma in IT Solutions & skills in
computer science, information systems or a closely related
 Experience of at least 3 years, in the field of systems engineering, programming, database
administration and/or analysis, operating systems, network analysis and/or management or a
similar field in a multi-platform information systems environment.
Skills and Knowledge
 Ability to recognize problems, develop recommendations and solutions, oversee correction
within assigned specialty; work effectively, independently and follow through on
assignments; promote and maintain a team environment; work effectively with clients,
users and senior managers; communicate orally and in writing; read, interpret and
apply complex technical publications and documentation
 Strong theoretical and practical background in graphic design, including the use of design
software such as Adobe Design Premium, In- Design, CorelDraw, web design. Basic
understanding of web development (HTML , Java script etc)

 ic Designer
 Proficiency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili;
 Diligent, highly organized and self-motivating individual;
 A person with high integrity;

 Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines; and willingness to work as part of a team
