Vacancy: Administrative Assistant-Africa Soil Information Service

Established in Nairobi in 2011, CGC Africa links the continent to Columbia’s scientific rigor, technological innovation, and academic leadership. The Centre works closely with policy makers, governments, and regional and African institutions, providing them with objective, science-based advice.
The goal of the Africa Soil Information Service Project is to improve the management, productivity and sustainability of African soils through the acquisition and application of near real-time and location-specific information about land and soils. The Project supports evidence based decision-making that will enhance agricultural and economic development, environmental sustainability and climate change adaptation across Africa.
Objective
Finance and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing finance, administrative and HR support to the AfSIS Project Team. The position will report to the Project Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Finance and Procurement support; including making monthly reports on petty cash and office operations.
2) Provides support on office administration and assets management.
3) Assist on HR matters including staff orientation to office activities and in relation to work permits.
4) Assisting travel authorization processes for project staff and collaborators.
5) Conferences/Workshops/Meetings activities; assist in facilitating visa applications, arrange for airport transfers and hotel bookings for collaborators, visitors and regional staff.
Qualifications/Requirements
· Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, or other relevant course with proven office management skills;
· At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in a closely related field gained in an international organization;
· High level of computer skills, ability to handle basic accounting and ability to learn new applications quickly.
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Fluency in English written and Oral.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Must be a Tanzanian National
· Computer literate
