ICANN’s global public interest mission is to promote the stability and security of the global Internet through its naming and addressing systems. It operates worldwide, with 325 staff primarily in hub offi ces in Los Angeles, Singapore and Istanbul. ICANN was founded in 1998 as a California public benefi t not-for-profi t corporation, and has a current budget of $113 million. Its current generic Top Level Domain expansion will result in over 1,300 new gTLDs. ICANN works on a multi-stakeholder, bottom-up consensus model.
The Role
- Provide trusted, motivated leadership, be ICANN’s primary public representative
- Work closely with the Board to fulfi l ICANN’s global mission and deliver operational excellence
- Consolidate ICANN’s diverse relationships with technical partners and all other actors in the global internet ecosystem, on the basis of trust, delivery, and transparency
